Hot Flash Heat Wave Continue to Reinvent Themselves With "Where I'm @"

Like other forms of art and expression, trends in music are cyclical, and you better believe synths are back with a vengeance. And San Francisco-based rock trio Hot Flash Heat Wave are showing us that they are up for the challenge. With their upcoming EP Sportswear due February 2022, this indie rock band is emphatically stating that their sound has evolved. It's become crystal clear that they're not afraid to foray into completely new territory.

The forthcoming album sees the band flaunting their talent by wandering further away from their musical roots. Many tracks have them utilizing more synth-driven sounds and relying less on their instruments than any of their preceding albums, including Mood Ring, which was their first dip into the pool of synth-driven pop-rock. Doubling down on this shift in sound and improving on what they started on Mood Ring, Sportswear is sure to be a mainstay on your 'Good Vibes Only' playlist.

The lead single "Where I'm @" is a quintessential throwback vibe that flirts with futuristic experimentation. Equal parts chill and playful, this track whisks you away to a carefree plane of existence. Whatever makes up the routine that helps you unwind after a long day, "Where I'm @" should most assuredly be a part of it.

"'Where I'm @' is about love, growth, and the willingness to accept change," explains the band, inviting you to journey with them on this path of self-discovery. And honestly, there probably aren't three better things to make a priority as we look to a fresh year ahead.
