Jessie Murph Goes Full Mob Wife in "Son of a Bitch"

Self-published multi-hyphenate Jessie Murph takes us to our knees with the release of her latest single, "Son of a Bitch." The sultry track showcases the rising star's multi-faceted vocal range and finds the Alabama native effortlessly oscillating between utterly soulful moments and nodding to her hip-hop influences through biting rap verses.

The commanding single opens with Murph crooning, "I ain't no man in the middle / That ain't no man, that's the devil" over the sound of a lilting banjo, warm guitar riffs, thrumming bass, and sparse yet powerful kick drum. As the track builds tension, her signature sound, style, and Southern twang shine as she raps about her lover cheating on her, warning, "I know what's up and what went down up in room 432." As the chorus kicks in, her raspy vocals soar as she describes just how badly her "Desperado" messed up, belting that she "didn't sign up for this," and ultimately embracing her darker side and threatening to find him with her Louisville bat in hand.

"'Son of a Bitch’ is the start of a new era of Jessie Murph – the music that is coming is coming directly from my soul, and I could not be more proud and excited for what's to come," shared Jessie in a statement.

"Son of a Bitch" follows the release of her smash hit, "Wild Ones," featuring Jelly Roll, which has tallied over 160M streams worldwide since its release, broke through the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and reached #1 on Billboard's Country Digital Song Sales chart. The rising artist plans to drop new music throughout the spring, culminating in a project expected this summer. The 19-year-old continues to dominate live as she concludes her sold-out global headline tour in Europe this month and gears up to announce another North American leg slated for April and May. Murph will also be a mainstay along this year's festival circuit with prominent performances at Hangout, BottleRock, Boston Calling, Gov Ball, and more.
