Knuckle Puck Announce 10th Anniversary Tour With New Single "Nice To Know Ya" | THE NOISE

Chicago's Knuckle Puck, always dedicated to their audience, has unleashed a raw, anthemic new track titled "Nice to Know Ya." It's a departure from their previous work, incorporating unconventional chords, a spoken verse, and push-pull lyrics. This bold experimentation is a testament to the band's unwavering commitment to keeping their audience on their toes.

Overflowing with intense electric guitar riffs, steady bass grooves, and snare drum patterns, lead vocalist Joe Taylor delivers each verse with an infectious energy reminiscent of early 2000s pop-punk songs. On the explosive hook, Taylor croons amid the chaos, "I thought you had enough/ Wanted more, but without the cost/ Yeah, you said you swore me off/ But you called your own bluff...Nice to know ya, now you're gone."

Things intensify in the second verse when Taylor introduces a spoken verse through a breathless, raspy voice using a seemingly sarcastic tone to mock the current state of society. Opening up about the group's inner struggles, he says, "Everyone wants to know / what it feels like to be a rockstar / I say I'm doing great / and crack a smile like a fucking politician."

"When writing Nice to Know Ya, we tried to take an older approach by keeping it as out-of-the-box as we could. This includes uglier chords, a spoken verse, and push-pull lyrics to match the juxtaposition of the verse and chorus. One of our goals for this band originally was to keep the listener guessing with our songwriting, something we are excited to bring back with this song." says the band.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Knuckle Puck's debut album, Copacetic. To celebrate the record, Knuckle Puck will embark on their Copacetic Anniversary tour in May. This month, the band celebrated a Copacetic Weekend in their home city of Chicago, holding a series of events throughout the city, including a full album show at the Salt Shed. Knuckle Puck also ended last year supporting State Champs on tour alongside Meet Me @ The Altar and Daisy Grenade.
