Lamb Shows Us Just What Kind of Rising Star She Is in "overkill"

Sometimes, the biggest music forces show up suddenly, without making a sound.

Earning a remix by Gunnr, praise from Drake, SZA, 1300saint, and more, as well as her fair share of rampant industry plant accusations, Lamb is quietly yet steadily walking the path to becoming music’s newest obsession.

“overkill,” has completely consumed every crevice of the internet, a hypergarage pop track that holds you hostage and refuses to loosen its grip. Detailing the internal spiral of craving someone to the point where it's almost rabid and choices are no longer sensical, “overkill” is emotionally dense without overstaying its welcome. It’s crisp, melodic, and sticks to every part of your brain, which is why the industry at large has fallen under its spell. Where did this elixir come from, and who is Lamb?

As of now, it’s almost impossible to say. With a long skirt, head full of wild curls, and a spider tattoo’d on her stomach, we only see what she’s willing to reveal. What we do know is she’s from Long Beach, works a 9-5 at a smoothie shop, and is betting on herself to see this thing through.

Contrary to popular belief, “overkill” isn’t the artist’s debut single, but it’s the song that introduced her to the world, and accurately depicts the soundscape she plans to live in. With a completely empty slate for a catalog, Lamb is blooming anew and ready to build on the momentum that’s earned her attention from mainstream’s most high. Citing influence from artists like Disclosure and Flume, Lamb is artistically boundless, with an audience eager to discover what's ready to come out of her next.
