Edinburgh, Scotland four-piece rock band happydaze continues to never disappoint with the release of their glistening new single "Been and Gone." The glowing track echoes and ascends into powerful melodies, laced with a stand-out edge, and honestly expresses raw emotions.
On "Been and Gone," the band intros the track with distant, filtered vocals, painting a scene of directionless as warm, anticipation-filled instrumentation bubbles beneath the surface. Lyrically, the track digs into vulnerability with heart-wrenching lines like "Safe to say I'm a mess today/ You always seem to pull me out/And I could really use it right now," and "I never even got to show you/ The whole truth," adding a layer of relatability for fans to cling onto. "After getting out and touring for the first time last year, the rush of being out in the world again was quite overwhelming. I lost a bit of direction, lost touch with a lot of people, and didn't know how to keep up with the pace of everything around me. The song is about grounding yourself in the moment, reaching out to the people you care about, and realizing that there's life ahead of you to appreciate."
