Extraordinary talent is difficult to find, but, as the argument goes, the best things in life aren’t easily obtained. Luckily for all of you out there, Ones to Watch does the heavy investigative work to find top-tier artists. On that note, may we present the Norweigan-Kenyan multifaceted artist and creative Lil Halima.

Standing as the epitome of creativity, Lil Halima sports a collection of refined talents that range from singing, songwriting, instrumental work, production, and creating artwork. She began exploring her artistic side from a very young age in the midst of navigating adolescence in a small northern town of Bardu in Troms, Norway. Despite the unconventional nature of her whirlwind skillset, she didn’t choose to move forward with her talents in a professional manner until after graduating high school. In 2017, Lil Halima moved to Oslo and began to make international connections with artists via Instagram and SoundCloud.

After posting videos of herself singing original songs on Instagram, the unadulterated talent of the now 21-year-old artist gathered the attention of Universal Music in 2017. Shortly after her discovery, she was signed onto Def Jam Norway and has been releasing her own original works of art since.

Lil Halima cascades between the thin lines of alternative R&B, buttery soul, and edgy pop, all the while painting interstellar yet relatable pictures with her lyricism. Alongside the inventive originality that her music holds, the young artist’s creative spirit is further illuminated in her artwork, showcasing the elasticity of her ingenuity. Love songs for bad lovers was the first EP that the Norweigan singer used to make a name for herself. The EP features unique, celestial production, soft-spoken yet moving vocals, and charismatic lyrics that will have listeners both ready to party and cry.

2019 has been a top year for Lil Halima. Releasing a collection of projects that showcased her freshly blended dose of pop and R&B, from  for the dark days, for the bright days to  her recent album with the Swedish producer Canto, Brown Girl Diary,  Lil Halima is taking the world by storm one year at a time. 2019 was merely the beginning.
