London born Nigerian Rapper DRIZZZ finds his flow in Sydney
DRIZZZ is a razor-sharp, energetic emerging voice that needs no introduction. His quick yet eloquent flow and clever lyricism are enviable in anyone, let alone a seventeen‑year‑old.
Born in the United Kingdom, DRIZZZ first discovered his love of music in London before his family returned to Nigeria, where they lived for two years. After those two years, the family made the decision to move even further abroad, eventually settling in Sydney, Australia - a shift that marked the beginning of DRIZZZ’s more serious commitment to his craft.
“I’ve been into music since I was nine years old - I didn't really start writing music until when I was about twelve. I moved to Australia three years ago and that was when I got introduced to a lot of cool people, a lot of cool things, community studios and a lot of cool artists as well.”
With just two tracks released at the time, DRIZZZ made waves when he took the crown as Triple J’s Unearthed High Winner in 2025, referenced on his freestyle VITAL: “Truth be told I submitted a song to a website/Guessing I got unearthed”. As part of his prize, he chose to collaborate with Australian artist and producer Nerve - their track Never Miss scheduled for release later this year.
Following his win, he’s been on a steady incline - releasing five new tracks, performing a string of live shows, and even fronting a Back to School campaign with JD Sports. He is also scheduled to take the stage at BIGSOUND 2026 as one of the festival’s 100 showcase artists.
He has a strong sense of rhythm and flow, and his music is genuinely exciting. Listening to his latest track swag, you’d assume you were hearing a well‑established artist. It’s attention-grabbing, it’s addictive and it’s easily memorable. While his roots sit firmly in UK Drill, the production on newly released swag leans into Latin elements, with a guitar‑picking melody woven throughout. In contrast, his previous release VENTIN is layered and ominous, with a sinister operatic feel. DRIZZZ is committed to challenging himself, shifting personas, and exploring new textures in his storytelling. His confidence in his style and sound is undeniable, and it’s clear that authenticity is central to his work, a priority for DRIZZZ:
“The important thing is to like, carry yourself in every single track and piece of work that you make. At the end of the day, this is art”.
With a sound that sits comfortably alongside names like Skepta, Central Cee, and Dave, DRIZZZ is fast on his way to becoming a household name. His talent feels instinctive, and it’s easy to imagine him climbing the charts sooner than perhaps expected. But his biggest motivation for it all? His greatest supporters his family:
“I really grew up with a sense of togetherness, and my family. Being able to make sure that I’m able to provide for my family as well is something that I really want to be able to say about myself in the next five years. But yeah, that’s my biggest motivation when it comes to music. It just gives me a lot of motivation to keep going, because obviously it makes me feel like what I’m going for is something bigger than me, you know?”
With his presence on the scene already stirring excitement for listeners and the industry, DRIZZZ is quickly finding his home on the stage.
