MËSTIZA Pairs Spanish Folklore With Dance-Inducing House in "Reina La Alegría"

One by one, Spain continues to gift us with acts that are challenging the narrative and creating irrevocably unique art. MËSTIZA, the Madrid-based DJ duo combining traditional flamenco with hypnotic house, is pioneering a sound that has yet to be done.

Spanish folkloric music isn’t often thought to pair well with rave-ready electronic, but that hasn’t stopped MËSTIZA from blending their reds and honoring their roots while remaining futuristic. Innovative and ancestral, the duo infuse Latin, African, and Arabic rhythms to make sounds that cast a spell over your body and explode movement out of you. Their latest release "Reina La Alegría" is electrifying, a kaleidoscopic sonic wonderland of latin techno. It’s easy to get lost in, a nearly seven-minute dance track that pulls at your bones and frees you from the confinement of life on the ground.

Seeding their melodic house from passion and percussion, MËSTIZA has mastered the art of catering to all five of your senses with their work. We’d advise you to follow along on their journey, because as they embark on their upcoming international tour, it’d be a regrettable sin not to experience their command of the dancefloor in person.
