It's Camp. It's Drill. It's Millie Go Lightly's  "Drillie Go Lightly"

As we bid February a solemn farewell and move into March, many music fans are scrambling to assemble the perfect springtime playlist before the flowers start to bloom. Crafting the perfect vibe takes precision, effort, and reflection, especially since spring is the season of change. Luckily for us, UK pop artist Millie Go Lightly returns this month with "Drillie Go Lightly," her first release of 2022. Over lurching bass signals and trap piano melodies, the genre-warping artist delivers a performance so polished and posh that it will become an instant favorite in your weekly rotation.

If you're a hip-hop fan that keeps their ear to the ground, it's pretty likely you've heard of Millie Go Lightly before today. From making wave's on Young Thug's Easy Breezy Beautiful Thugger Girls to collaborating with some of hip-hop's most prominent producers and artists like Gunna and Jack Harlow, Millie Go Lightly has steadily been amassing a burgeoning yet devoted fanbase since her transplantation to Atlanta's music scene. The reward for their loyalty comes in the form of "Drillie Go Lightly," a track that sees Millie injecting a much-needed dose of strong and infectious feminine energy into a carefully crafted drill mix.

Though her writing may differ from prominent figures in Brooklyn's drill scene like Fivio Foreign and Sheff G, Millie's energy and charisma practically bleeds through your headphones to create one of the year's most memorable tracks. Whether delivering lines like “I knew he was posh when he hit and said ‘Golly!’” or flowing seamlessly with her signature vocal tones, Millie Go Lightly is making a strong case for 2022 being her year with "Drillie Go Lightly."

Though bridging the gap between pop, hip-hop, and country is nothing new for her, I'm sincerely excited to see what stylistic risks she takes in the future. With more music and visuals likely planned for the near future, Millie Go Lightly deserves a long-overdue spot on your radar.
