Newcomer Bee Bran Is Goes Through Growing Pains on New Single “To Feel Is To Be"

Newcomer Bee Bran is going through some growing pains on new single “To Feel Is To Be.” The dreamy, synth-pop track sees the UK singer-songwriter examine a relationship where she and her partner grapple with — and ultimately try to ignore — the changes they’re both going through.

“They ask about the distance // but I raise their troubled spirits and say ‘Our love is different,’” Bran croons, leaning into her intentional obliviousness on the chorus, where she declares, “I’m living life like nothing’s gonna change.”

The lush production anchors Bran’s airy vocals, sonically mirroring the changes and opposition she describes in the lyrics.

“‘To Feel Is To Be’ is about being in a relationship where you’re both changing,” Bran explained. “It feels like you’re both growing, but separately, and although that can feel wrong that you’re not growing together, you realise you’re both still happy together whilst at that moment you’re growing apart.”

This is just the beginning of Bran’s musical career, but she’s been working on songs since she was a kid.

“Music was everywhere in my household,” she explained. “I lived with my parents and my sister, and all three of them are musicians. I began my own musical journey sneaking into my sister’s bedroom and playing her keyboard, trying to write songs like hers.”

If you’re looking for more of Bran’s music, you’re in luck — she plans to release an EP this spring that is “very much in the spirit” of “To Feel Is To Be.” We can’t wait to hear what she has in store!
