Nikki Kent’s debut single “My Kisses In Threes xxx” has officially landed, quietly establishing her as the “it” girl indie grunge has been longing for.

Making a weapon out of her dark feminine, Kent concocts a shoegaze siren spell almost impossible to resist. She’s very aware of her allure, proving that much of a woman’s magnetism lies in knowing her mere touch is God. “The world is so cruel, but I won’t be / I’ll give you my powers, my kisses in three’s / I’ll speak for the flowers and for the trees” bottles this very sentiment. Standing in the entirety of her sensual magnitude, it’s both aggressive and tender, muddy and direct.

Nodding to the 2000s golden age of alt-rock, “My Kisses In Threes xxx” drowns in blaring drum kicks and subdued treble, a fitting sonic landscape for desire cloaked in the shadows. Kent wants to offer all of herself to the object of her gaze, begging, “There really isn’t much that I wouldn’t do for you.” Yearning is sexy when you know you can have anyone you want, and Kent isn’t wasting time on humility.

The first single to come from a promising venture into dark grunge, Nikki Kent is ready to make herself comfortable in the spotlight. With a lip ring and haunting gaze, the world is hers.
