Meet Pacifica, the Argentine Indie Rock Duo Soundtracking Your "Premature Rejection"

Argentina-based indie rock duo Pacifica, comprised of Inés Adam and Martina Nintzel, will make sure you don't forget their name with their latest anthemic single, "Premature Rejection." The feel-good, scream-at-the-top-of-your-lungs inspiring track is the perfect earworm for every hot girl who's been rejected and shows off the band's ability to create dynamic, freeing music that's equal parts honest and energetic.

The single opens with a lone, thrumming bass line, with its deep tones capturing the listeners' attention and building anticipation. Martina's rich vocals blend into warm layers of guitar, played by Inés, and steady percussion, declaring, "You can't shut me up / Yeah, I'd like to see you try / Think you're being cute, so what? / You'll never hold me tight." Throughout the track, the instrumentation builds and swells into waves of crashing percussion, raging guitars, and high-octane vocals, creating a sonic experience that eggs us all to say "fuck you" to anyone who's done us wrong.

"'Premature Rejection' takes a lot of influences from classic rock and describes a classic tale of rejection," shares Pacifica. "With western cowboy riffs and a lot of distortion, we invite you to come our way and remember Pacifica."

The accompanying music video is a low-production but high-quality visual that follows the pair as they deal with the fallout of an over-the-phone breakup. Filled with angst and attitude, they chew out and play for the offending party over the phone, ensuring they never forget they messed with the wrong people. "Cowboy boots, instruments, and a phone: that's all you need to go off on the guy that broke your heart," shares the band about the passionate video.

"Premature Rejection" is the third single from the Argentine indie duo's upcoming debut album, P1*, which will be out this fall.
