Raue Get Caught In A Toxic Cycle On New Single "Are You Bored Yet?" | THE NOISE

Cali Duo Raue, formed by the powerhouse duo of vocalist/guitarist Paige Kalenian and drummer Jax Huckle, explore the idea of creative paralysis with their latest single, "Are You Bored Yet?" On the track, the pair are fighting to stay creative for all the wrong reasons and realizing how unhealthy that cycle can be.

"Are You Bored Yet?" blends the band's inspirations, including the introspection of Radiohead, the cinematic weight of Deftones, and the pop-centric vulnerability of Dominic Fike and Billie Eilish, with a paradoxical mix of numbness and emotional weight. Sweeping guitars, bittersweet melodies, and gut-punching lyrics like, "It's the same fate/ I've been pacing/ I can't find new lines/ No longer caught by surprise."

It's disheartening, yet all too relatable, to listen to the pair lament how the creative process that once brought them so much passion and empowerment has now turned into a source of anxiety and despair. The moody and gritty hook, they ask, "So are you bored yet?/ I'm out of excuses/ Would it change your mind/ If I closed the blinds?"

The upcoming single will feature on their forthcoming EP, too scared to explain, out May 9. On the record, Raue chase an arguably irrational pursuit of music with unapologetic intensity. Paige describes the record as "vulnerability through a poem," blending themes of emotional limbo and self-reflection. Paige adds, "I want listeners to feel like we're unmasked—raw, relatable, and real."

Already a breakout in 2024, their viral Radiohead cover and short-form personality skits have caught the attention of 75,000 new fans this year alone, making them one of the most buzzworthy bands to watch in 2025.
