Reneé Rapp has had 2023 in a chokehold with her debut album, Snow Angel. Soon, her reign over the pop zeitgeist will continue in 2024 as she reprises her role as Regina George for the upcoming Mean Girls reboot. Ahead of the movie, Rapp has teamed up with rap icon Megan Thee Stallion for a new song from the aforementioned soundtrack, "Not My Fault." The track, a fabulous and dreamy pop banger that oozes charisma, sees the duo sing about confidence, empowerment, and a playful attitude toward love and relationships, and will have anyone who listens to it feeling like they are "that bitch."

The song, centered around one of the most memorable quotes from the movie, opens with the iconic line, "It's not my fault you're like in love with me." Rapp's rich vocals croon over the alluring electro-pop arrangement that's equal parts icy and infectious. "It's not my fault / You came with her, but she might leave with me / It's not my fault / You've gotta pay for what I get for free / It's not my fault," she sings.

On the song's hook, her swooning vocals belt, "You're like, you're like, you're like in love with me," giving our new Regina a little bit of some queer flair. Megan Thee Stallion pops in with a supercharged verse, claiming her throne as the "Black Regina George." "I got influence, they do anythin' I endorse / I run shit, to be a bad bitch is a sport," raps Meg, giving the track even more of an edge with her biting bars.

"Not My Fault" caps off an explosive year for Rapp, from the release of her debut album, Snow Angel, earning the largest first-week sales for a female artist's debut album, to her star-studded sold-out 'Snow Hard Feelings Tour.' Recently, the singer-songwriter released a deluxe version of Snow Angel, featuring four new songs, including a remix of the standout track "Tummy Hurts" featuring fellow up-and-comer Coco Jones.
