Riovaz's "Tell Me Your Fears" Is a Hypnotic, Dance-Inducing Affair

Today, constantly evolving, Riovaz ups the ante with a captivating new single, "Tell Me Your Fears." On the fevered house track, the 18-year-old newcomer invites someone to trust him with their fears while haunting, dance-inducing synths and sonic pulses engulf the room.

"Tell Me Your Fears" is ample proof that Riovaz isn't afraid of putting his heart on the line in the name of immersive, relatable, and highly danceable music. "Tell Me Your Fears" finds Riovaz hypnotized by another person. "Saw the look in her eyes / she came here to dance," he sings over cascading beats. "She looks so enchanting / I can't deny." However, as the song progresses, Riovaz is plagued by what-ifs. "You think I'll tell you I'm sorry when it's caused by you," he sings in the insanely catchy chorus.

"This song captures my constant detachment from reality and the sudden reappearance of normalcy," he says of the track. "I had just watched Donnie Darko before making this song and video, so that film was the last piece of this puzzle." While Donnie Darko hinged on Jake Gyllenhaal hallucinating a demonic rabbit, the accompanying lyric video for "Tell Me Your Fears" sees the New Jersey native confronting his fears in an entrancing visual component.

"Tell Me Your Fears" pushes forward Riovaz's provocative storytelling, following on from July's electronic-boosted single "you're a parasite," debuting at No. 2 on SoundCloud's New & Hot chart. It's part of an ongoing evolution that extends back to his bold 2020 breakthrough "Prom Night," which permeated TikTok, eclipsed over 107 million streams, and is charting on the Hot Rock/Alt Song Billboard Chart. In addition, he expanded his platform by selling out a headline show in New York and supporting glaive on seven US dates of his 'America Is a Place That Exists' tour earlier this year.
