Valley Boys Bares His Soul in Confessional Single “Happy All The Time”

For many people, happiness is the ultimate goal. While it may sound simple enough, there are countless obstacles to achieving happiness. For Valley Boy, being a child of divorce is a big roadblock on his path to happiness. In his latest single “Happy All The Time” Valley Boy bares his soul as he confesses his struggles in finding happiness. 

In the chorus of the single, Valley Boy highlights not only his own pain, but how his pain affects those around him, specifically his partner. He sings, “Honey knows I been lying / Laughing when I could cry / Sorry I can’t be happy all the time / Honey knows that she’s asking / Me to make water wine / Sorry I can’t be happy all the time.” Comparing his inability to be happy to making water into wine, an impossible task, shows just how much Valley Boy is struggling, and how unattainable being happy all the time is. 

Sonically, the chorus is almost overwhelming but in a way that adds to the sentiment expressed in the lyrics. The chorus is an explosion of reverberating guitars, echoing vocals, and steady drums. The combination of all these elements is reminiscent of the profound desire to want to be happy, especially in those moments of intense sadness. 

“Happy All The Time” is the first single off of Valley Boy’s debut album Children of Divorce. The album “contains true stories from real kids who grew up and some who didn’t,” shares Valley Boy. 2025 will also see Valley Boy supporting Laurel on her Music for Sunsets tour in April.
