Whitney Whitney Takes Fans On A Wild Ride With New EP "1.2"

Whitney Whitney’s eagerly-anticipated sophomore EP 1.2 is the singer-songwriter at her best, blending heartfelt and honest lyrics with rich production that surrounds the listener, totally enveloping you in her cinematic world.

A standout track is “Dream Girl,” a sparkling song that starts with delicate instrumentals and airy vocals before exploding into lush, layered production, complete with a “Don’t Stop Believin’”-style guitar solo at the end.

The song explores the desire to be someone’s “dream girl” and to have someone else be your dream in return. However, it’s harder to find than you might think; as Whitney Whitney herself admits, “I could be your dream girl // but no one has dreamt of me.”

The singer-songwriter also chronicles the rush that comes from walking on the wild side in “Tightrope Walker,” a country-tinged song that sees Whitney Whitney brushing off any worries about what might happen if she falls.

“It’s a good day for a death wish,” she sings sardonically, before shrugging, “Maybe I’ll touch heaven // and maybe I won’t.”

The project also includes previously-released singles “Isabelle” and “A Man Written By A Woman.” The former is a bouncing guitar track that takes aim at a sharp-tongued woman keeping her man on a short leash. “Isabelle, you’re ruining his life and don’t you know it?” Whitney Whitney asks. “What kind of drug did you put in his cup?...One man’s heart should be more than enough.”

Meanwhile, “A Man Written By A Woman” is a Wild-West wish to build your own dream partner, one who’d “treat me right” and “be a day at the beach,” the singer-songwriter croons.

With 1.2, Whitney Whitney brings fans back onto the rollercoaster of her evocative music — and gives listeners the perfect tracks to soundtrack their own summer adventures.
