Cherry Glazerr Releases "Soft Like a Flower," Announces New Album 'I Don't Want You Anymore'

Slated for a September 29 release, Cherry Glazerr describes their upcoming album I Don’t Want You Anymore as some of their most “personal, raw music to date.” The first glimpse at this vulnerable project arrives with the Evanescence-esque single “Soft Like a Flower.”

Proclaiming “I like you killing me” alongside murky guitar riffs, frontwoman Clementine Creevy is enslaved to a poisonous love’s suffering. There’s a deep sense of misery muddled with euphoria, as if the addictive highs blur the debilitating lows.

“It’s a real losing your fucking shit kind of vibe,” the LA-based artist shares. “I wanted this album to be just heart and soul. Completely exposed. It’s also a little bit about loving the anguish and toxicity that comes with being ruined by another person. Letting go and submitting to them but then catching yourself becoming too much like them.”

Speaking to addiction and consumption, the moody single encapsulates a feeling far beyond its soul-baring lyrics. “Soft Like A Flower" is sonic turmoil, a soft rock track that immerses you in love’s deprivation. While the band has tried on many different sets of skin sound-wise, from lo-fi to dance, they’ve truly perfected the art of indie rock, with Creevy’s haunting vocals somehow settling warmly.

Having journeyed from SoundCloud to festival stages, Cherry Glazerr is not afraid to reinvent themselves nor dig deeper into life to inform their art. Sharing that she’s spent some time “taking a hard look at myself, at my relationships, and writing about it,” Creevy promises I Don’t Want You Anymore to be the band’s most cathartic work yet.
