Leigh-Anne Proves Her Solo Star Power in "Don’t Say Love"

Most known for being a member of the best-selling group and X-Factor Alumni Little Mix, British pop artist Leigh-Anne has arrived with her much-anticipated debut single "Don’t Say Love," which is poised for a Top 5 debut on the U.K. Charts. An uptempo dance track, the single is infectious. Perfect to soundtrack those late nights on the dancefloor, "Don’t Say Love" is an effective portmanteau of pop and electronic with the bubbling excitement turned up to 11. However, it’s Leigh-Anne’s vocal performance that truly shines on this record.

If there is one word I can muster to surmise "Don’t Say Love," it’s power. The sections are masterful between verse, pre-chorus, and chorus. The electronic lows are hypnotizing and are bound to send you on a sonic odyssey. An anthemic ode to self-love and personal empowerment, Leigh-Anne is poised to become a bonafide solo force to be reckoned with in the world of pop. In a genre so saturated with releases, it’s incredibly hard to stand out, yet with her debut Leigh-Anne has proved undeniable star power.

Co-written with the legendary Jon Bellion, everything about "Don’t Say Love" screams hit. Even the artwork, a subtle nod to Mariah Carey, is packaged to perfection. With Little Mix announcing an indefinite hiatus, all eyes are on Leigh-Anne and her upcoming debut album. And as summer rears its head, I can guarantee this song will soundtrack days we won’t remember but nights we won’t forget.
