Stacie Marie Wears Her Heart on Her Sleeve in Debut Single "Under Cover"

It's always a risk to wear your heart on your sleeve. Singer-songwriter Stacie Marie explores the duality of hiding her feelings and being vulnerable in her latest single, "Under Cover." Finding herself in love limbo, she takes listeners on a captivating journey through vulnerability and strength, blending atmospheric melodies with a catchy, soulful edge.

Opening with ethereal, moody pop production, Marie's lulling, rich vocals are seamlessly layered with haunting harmonies and spacey synths, luring the listener into her intricately crafted soundscapes. She weighs the risk of being open with her feelings, crooning, "Can I get this off my chest so I can breathe / Is there not anything more than we can be?"

On the hook, she stands on the cliff's edge of her sitautionship, trying to hide her growing feelings still as she spends the night with her lover under the covers. She admits their status as "somewhere in between almost lovers / and being free" exhausts her, and she now finds herself thinking of him even when she tries to be with other people. She knows they could be more and asks him to trust her with his heart, even if they could both get hurt.

The new single marks the beginning of a new era for the Virginia Beach native. This era is characterized by a more mature and introspective approach to her music, as she delves deeper into her personal experiences and emotions. After facing the trials and tribulations of the famously unforgiving music industry, she returns with fresh, reinvigorated energy, soul-baring lyrics, and a powerful, refined voice.
