Towa Bird's "Your Girl" Is Fit for a Rom-Com

“Your Girl” is the well-awaited drop by Towa Bird following the acclaim of her debut album, American Hero, out last June via Interscope Records. An exciting drop featured in season two of the Emmy-nominated rom-com “Nobody Wants This” on Netflix, the self-aware tantalizing track is an exciting reflection of Towa’s signature electric guitar tonality, which is put on full display for listeners to see.

Produced by Patrick Wimberly (credits: MGMT, Kid Cudi, Blood Orange) “Your Girl” orbits around Towa’s transcendent guitar work - which was highlighted on her powerhouse debut album American Hero. A high-note successor to American Hero, “Your Girl” tells the tale of a messy love triangle with a happy twist. Brought to life by Towa Bird, the track was co-written by singer/songwriter Renee Rapp, Julio Tavarez and Annie Schnidel.

And at just over four minutes, the single is an intangible delivery of alt-pop fused with dreampop textures, with Towa’s delivery transforming from playfully taunting in the first verse, “I know she misses the snow// Your angel's 'bout ready to blow// I know things you wouldn't know,” to indelible sincerity, propelled by a potent staccato riff as we approach the chorus. “'Cause your girl calls me in the middle of the night//Sweet talk, she likes that I'm the sentimental type//That's what she told me and she only used her eyes.”

With the release of “Your Girl,” Towa Bird continues to showcase her alt-pop mastery, and has us continually excited to see where she is off to next.
