XG Embrace Their Alien Personas in the Technicolor “SOMETHING AIN'T RIGHT”

Japanese it girl group XG has officially lit the dance music realm on fire with their latest single “SOMETHING AIN'T RIGHT,” a vibrant '90s pop ode to trusting your intuition and demanding your earned respect.

One of the most versatile acts in the girl group game, there’s nothing the seven-member act hasn’t mastered, from stunning high register vocals to quick-witted rap verses. With XG serving as an acronym for "Xtraordinary Girls,” they are a true testament to just how miraculous women in their most authentic expression can be.

“You’ve been acting funny lately / You ain’t gotta lie/ Got me out here looking crazy / What you tryna hide?/ Baby, I can’t take it, you can’t fake it / Something ain’t right / I know something ain’t right.” XG isn’t interested in holding anything back, rooted in a contagious stance of confidence that can infect even the most withered women to stand loudly in their worth, too.

Chisa, Cocona, Harvey, Hinata, Juria, Jurin, and Maya each come alive in the accompanying music video for “SOMETHING AIN'T RIGHT," an immersive digitized world that transforms the city into a hyperactive playground. Voted Billboard’s “Best New Music Video of the Week,” they execute flawless choreography while rocking futuristic camp, complete with Cocona's blonde buzz cut, Chisa's orange hair, and Maya's blue hair.

Quirky and avant-garde, effortlessly cool and eccentric, XG is the future of international pop. Their individual diversity lends to an explosion of sound and color, leaving fans salivating over their forthcoming second mini album, due out November 8.
