Today marks the release of ‘made it!’, the debut album from indie pop princess lucky break. A product of the distinct aesthetic of 2010’s Tumblr culture, lucky break is the perfect find for fans of soft-pop and confessional songwriting. The album details falling in love, moving abroad, getting ghosted, getting sick, and being confined to her bedroom; a fate that birthed 11 tracks that would go on to live in tandem.

On the album’s thesis, lucky break shares, "'made it!' captures my life from 19 to 23 as I was going through major transitions, finding my inner compass and figuring out how to live in alignment with my values.”

The gorgeous focus track “If People Could Fly” is not only a sonic standout, but comes with a captivating music video that serves as a gentle love letter to the West Coast. The video is quaint and cozy, a patchwork of beaches, kites, and endless blue skies. It’s an essential companion to the listening experience that perfectly encapsulates lucky break’s artistic perspective. The lyrics leave a lasting impact as she sings, “If people would fly / I wouldn’t go West / I’d stay by your side / With my wings on your chest.”

Drawing inspiration from legendary 90’s acts like Liz Phair and The Magnetic Fields, lucky break just might be your new favorite bedroom popstar. Her blend of ambient, subdued pop meets lush alt-rock influences, carving out a lane entirely her own.
